◾Install, configure and optimize laptop components and features

Troubleshooting, Repair and Maintenance
◾Explain the troubleshooting theory
◾Explain and interpret common hardware and O/S symptoms and their causes
◾Determine the troubleshooting methods and tools for printers
◾Explain and interpret common laptop issues and determine the basic troubleshooting method
◾Integrate common preventive maintenance techniques

Operating Systems and Software
◾Compare and contrast different Windows operating systems and their features.

This course covers: Hardware, Operating Systems, Networking and Security. It’s a hands-on, lab-oriented course which stresses laboratory safety and working effectively in a group environment.

Course Objectives

Hardware

Install, configure and maintain personal computer components.

Detect problems, troubleshoot and replace/repair personal computer components.

Install, configure, detect problems, troubleshoot and repair/replace laptop components.

Select and use various electrical testing tools.

Detect and resolve common printer issues.

Operating Systems

Select the appropriate commands and options to troubleshoot and resolve problems.

Differentiate between Windows Operating System directory structures (Windows 7, XP and Vista).

Select and use system utilities I tools and evaluate the results.

Evaluate and resolve common issues.

Networking

Troubleshoot client-side connectivity issues using appropriate tools.

Install and configure a small office home office (SOHO) network.
